The Search for Concordia Live Your Dream Scholars
Rising in La Trinidad, Benguet is another advocate of education through the effortsof Concordia College of Benguet (CCB). The college is about to take off this Academic Year 2014-2015 which will start on August 11, 2014.
This year, Concordia Collegeof Benguet announces the extension of scholarship grants to chosen 60 students to be part of the Concordia Live Your Dream Scholarship (CLYDS) Program in the hope of honing the skills and talents of these students, competitive in their field that will see through success beyond national borders, and fully competent as leaders to achieve social changes in the new millennium. It will pave the way toward a brighter future for these underprivileged young people who have aptitude and passion for study.
CLYDS Scholars will enjoy full or partial scholarship inclusive of free tuition, privileges in free board and lodging, and an opportunity to become an exchange student in Korea. The scholarship grants are open to all high school graduates qualified for the program.
The search for CLYD scholars was set off by presenting the scholarship offer to different villages, churches and organizations fromMay to July of this year. CCB coordinated with different barangay officials and church leaders in La Trinidad, Baguio, and Pangasinan, as well as with some organizations in Manila that support the advocacy in education.
Potential scholars were gathered. All applicants went through an intensive screening procedure. They had to pass the written and speaking tests to qualify. Although it was not that easy, the academic and scholarship committees were strongly determined to get the cream of the crop from every place they visited.
There are more than 60 applicants who took the college admission test and interview but only 38 of them were selected.
