Renovation Project – Clark Campus
In order to address the clients’ concern about the disagreeable outlook of the campus canteen, hallway walls, flooring and ceiling, the management of HELP Institute had started a renovation project last April 21, 2017. Due to its aim for in-school beautification, HELP Clark Campus will soon have sustainable refurbishment of exterior walls and the following list shows the sustainability assessment criteria identified for the project: 1) Durability 2) Indoor air quality 3) Structural stability 4) Fire safety 5) Aesthetic quality Another major change in progress is the ceiling and flooring. The floors at the entrance and the pathway to the school were retiled while the water-damaged ceilings are repaired at the present time. After the repaired areas dry, stain sealer will be applied to it and then the whole ceiling will also be re-paint. The existing cafeteria is one big space with a bunch of hard surfaces. That means it can be a pretty loud room. The renovation gives us an opportunity to improve not only the aesthetics but also the sound controls with the repaired ceiling and new furniture. We will repair the ceiling with a new look and use better materials that will absorb even more noise. The overall goal for the canteen renovation was to design a space that people wanted to use for dining, studying, and socializing. HELP Institute wanted to be sure that the faculty and students would feel invested in the renovated space. The project has to be completed in 4 weeks, and most of the construction occurred between the hours of 8AM to 5PM. On top of that, the construction site had to be cleaned and brought back into working condition for the staff and students to use the space each day. As a result, we are very deliberate about what to demolish. The reconstruction and renovation has been going for a week now and its target completion will be by the second week of May, (tentative date – May 13 to 14). Here are a few existing images to show what we were working with.
