CIS and CLC Course Training: Learning English through MyOn

A radical shift has begun to occur in the world of education and HELP believes that it is important to pay attention to the changing dimensions of education data as well as its vastness. The increased pace of change in our education system for young learners is demanding us to acquire a program that is not just text-based but must also be graphical, visual, and musical. After considering those factors, HELP Education together with Concordia, found a way to translate those information blocks into a useful courseware.

As we start tapping into new education materials in an attempt to improve the quality of our students’ learning, our online educators are also embarking on a new English course.

This two-day training provides ICCI e-Learning teachers with an introduction to the new K-12 program by CIS and CLC via MyOn. It is an Online Library Program that contains various categories of fun books. It includes both educational and fiction books. MyOn has interactive, easy-to-navigate, self-guided format that can provide dynamic learning experience. The purpose of MyOn is to provide young learners with fun and informative books that they can enjoy studying while learning the English language. This program is ideal for; beginner students who are new to e-learning, primary-school learners who have basic knowledge in English, and students who needs to brush-up on their English grammar.

Furthermore; at course completion, the teachers are able to apply the Lexile measure which is a very valuable tool for them to identify a student’s level of learning ability. Hence, they will also be able to supply appropriate lessons for their students. The ICCI teachers gained insight into the importance of using an integrated curriculum in class and the integral role of a well-developed lesson plan in a student’s education.
