About TESOL and TEC
What is TESOL?
TESOL stands for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and encompasses what used to be called TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and TESL (teaching English as a Second Language). The CIC on line TESOL course teaches you to develop and adapt materials and resources and encourages you to become independent and creative teachers.
What is TEC?
TEC stands for Teaching English to Children. Concordia focuses on teaching methods for age 2 through 12 at the different developmental stages of children. Instructors focus on a variety of TEC methodologies, classroom discipline, and a combination of methods that work best in a TEC classroom.
JAE SUNG HYUN, a Korean national, is Student No. 100 for CIC – Philippines ! He represents a new milestone for our growing institution. Jae is enrolled in our ESL (English as a Second Language) Program to build his resume as he pursues further studies in the United States.

How do you find your stay here in the Philippines?
This it is my first time in the Philippines and I’m having a good time!
Why did you come here?
I want to study English intensively here and then study in America.
How are you doing with your CIC studies here?
I am enjoying and having so much fun. I’m really learning English better.
Which skills have you improved on (i.e., Reading Writing Speaking Listening) already?
Since I arrived here, I improved my Speaking and Listening skills. I wasn’t really speaking up before and did not open my thoughts. I can talk to people better now. But of course, I still need to learn a lot more…
